Early Easter

So I know that Easter is 2 weeks away, but we are leaving for Utah this Friday so I decided to have the kids wear their Easter outfits early. They looked cute. Both are a little big, but my kids grow like weeds so I can't bring myself to buy the right size, I always buy one size up so it will last longer than a month. They are adorable kids though.

After 3 weeks of work. . .

Our bathrooms are DONE!!!
In the kids bathroom we tore out the floor and put in porcelin tile. Then we replaced the vanity, and toilet and all the fixtures. We were doing quite well with it, until the pipes started leaking. It took Aaron a while to fix those, then we got the floor all done and were putting the new toilet in and we cracked a tile. So we had to dig it out and replace it. We finally got that all done and opened the box for the new vanity and the whole back of the vanity was caved in. So we had to take it back to Lowe's and get a replacement. After all that work, we are almost done. We still need a mirror and we're going to put some white cabinets over the toilet but you get the picture. The first few pics are the before.

For our bathroom we mostly just replaced the floor. Some idiot decided to put carpet in the bathroom, so that just had to go (after 3 years of living here). So we put the same tile in and I painted the bathroom all white (it used to be a light yellow) and I painted the cabinets black. Not much work, but I'm glad there is no more carpet. We still need to put the baseboards in our bathroom and get new white doors for both bathrooms. But we are glad to finally have out house not be a construction zone. I can't wait to clean it top to bottom on Monday!

Yes, Yes We're still Alive

I know it's been forever since I've done a post. We are alive and happy. Not much has happened since Christmas. Kaitlyn went back to school. The novelty is wearing off and almost everyday I hear "Why do I have to go to school today?" She is however doing very well. She can now read most books she brings home completely by herself and now we've starting working harder on spelling and math. Matt continues to enjoy his time at home alone. He is excited to start soccer soon. In Feb. my mom and my sister came to visit. Sad to say, I got no pics and haven't figured out how to get them from my sister yet. We had a great time with them. We went shopping, played, went swimming and went to see Princess and the Frog. It was a lot of fun. The kids made Valentine frames for Grandma, (which you can see below). And yes, I celebrated my 28th birthday. Aaron had work and class that day, so my wonderful friends took me out to dinner and I spent the whole day at Wendy's watching BBC classics. On Thursday Aaron made me breakfast and made me dinner (Cafe Rio salads) and the kids helped with the cake.
We are now in the process of renovating both of our bathrooms. We've almost finished ours (just need baseboards), and we've been working on the kids forever. We were almost done, but as we were putting the new toilet in we crakced a tile, so we had to replace that. Hopefully we'll finish today and I'll post pics of both of them.
