Last conference Sunday Kaitlyn came down with a high fever, cough, sore throat and achiness. She was pretty miserable. She just laid around all day. By Sunday night her fever was up to 104 and we were pretty worried. We took turns checking on her all night, and by Monday morning, it was down to only 101. But alas, by Tuesday both Matt and I had it. Poor Aaron had to play nurse, a role he did quite well in I might add. Matt and I didn't really move all of Tuesday or Wed. Kaitlyn was back to school by Thurs, but Matt and I were still pretty bad. The first time we made it out of the house all week was Sat. We had to miss church because Matt still had a cough, but luckily we are recovered. How not fun is it to sit in you house for a whole week though, especially when we were having some nice sunny days. Hopefully the flu is behind us though.
During all this sickness, Kaitlyn had her first tennis lesson. I was a bad mom, and didn't get her signed up for soccer in time, so we decided to try tennis. She goes twice a week for 45 minutes to the tennis center. She's in a class with 4-6 year olds. Her teacher is great. They do lots of little activities, and they had these oversized tennis balls that they play with. Kaitlyn is imporving each week and she seems to love it. Maybe she'll end up with better hand-eye coordination than her mom :)
Yesterday Matt and I went with Kaitlyn's kindergarten class to the pumpkin patch. It was luckily not raining and not too muddy. The kids got to pick out a pumpkin and hay-ride, hay bale maze, pet some animals and climb on a hay pyramid. They had a lot of fun, and it was great to see how Kaitlyn interacts with her class and her teacher. She can almost look Ms.Holmberg in the eye now! Great progress!
